BP - what gives with the bass player who "underestimated" Country boy?

BP - You said that one of the bass players underestimated Country boy and am I right in saying he cocked it up? (sorry for the British colloquialism!!)

What happens on the big day of a festival like Claptons?

For example, Albert Lee is invited to play and I guess he chooses to play Country Boy.
Will he know before hand who his bass player is going to be (and the rest of the band for that matter!)?

Also would they rehearse before the live performance or would it be "OK guys, it's in the key of XYZ, watch the tricky bit in the middle ahhh 1-2, 1-2-3-4..." and off they go?
