Our diversity is our strength.

Word up, Frank. I think that's what the kids say.

Not much I can add to what BP said.

I see that you called me today, boss, probably a heads up about the State of The Forum Address. I was out buying a certain small human a new bike and then off riding with him, burning my stupid white head to a crisp. Sorry I missed you, but as usual, you knocked it outta the park.

The only thing I would add is that this is a work in progress and I don't always have the right answers. For those of you that think I might be immune, you're wrong. I've made some bad calls and BP tells me when I do. I can handle it.

I can also handle it from you guys, believe me. I like to think that Arin and Gavin and the other mods and yours truly do a pretty good job under what are not always ideal circumstances, but there is always room for improvement.

Moderating this place is like playing an instrument. There's always something new to learn.

So hook me up when I'm not hitting on all cylinders.

We have certainly grown, more than I could ever have expected. Good for us, I say. With growth comes adjustments, and I think, overall, we've made those adjustments pretty well.

But I do welcome your input, I really do.

I'll say this - the bass side is one hell of a lot easier than the guitar side. For that, I thank you.

Thanks to all the mods, you all seem to be doing a great job as far as I can see, in keeping this site something special.

This is one of the better regulated forums around. As long as you don't put EB products down (decent, polite folks never offend the host), the mods are invisible. Many people elsewhere complain about Big Poppa and his "attitude" here. But this is HIS house and he has a few simple rules that he expects visitors to observe. I'm sure that he behaves when he is in someone else's forum.

Many is a funny word..with the internet someone writes it and in the speed of wireless light it becomes fact. THat is the biggest reason why I dont like CS posts here as truth be told only about 40% are real problems.

Case in point two weeks ago someone questioned the sr5's output....we had three threads two weeks later that started off..."As I know from reading here that the sr5 has lower output" The fact was that the sr5 is signifiganlty higher output over passive basses....the problem is that someone wrote it so it must be true.

Frank most of that "many" are on the bass side over the whole pit fiasco that have no idea what went on behind the scenes.......That was a very ugly scenario but everyone got heir basses.

The whole moderation thing is really funny....if we let a agressive or confrontational thread run its natural course then finally close it down we get complaints, if we nip it in the bud we are fascists. IF I defend my position in a confrontational post then I must not be able to handle critisicm as you should just say..."thanks for your input and we will make appropriate adjustments"The whole freedom of speech has it s limits on both sides. I have learned that when confronted with a passionate aggressive compaint/question that I cannot answer in equal tenor because I actually am more restricted the the poster.

For the limited number of detractors I still wonder why they visit every day. It is kind of funny, isnt it. It is like the guy who bashes Guitar Center because it is cool to do that because they are so big but if you look at his GC credit card statement he is maxxed out.

I agree with BP, I usually always do except for sock fashion.

The “fanboy” issue keeps me from visiting other bass sites, I get really pissed when someone calls me one just because I say something positive or express my love for EBMM basses. I didn’t become a fanboy overnight; it was a long and costly search for a better bass. Then finally I bought an EBMM and then I knew this company was giving me what I wanted hear and feel, this was the bass for me. I’ve bought several more and the quality is constant and I continue to love every single one of them. That has not been the case with the offering from some other manufactures; I had to go through several to find the few keepers I have.

About this forum I can only offer more praise, it’s unlike any other I’ve ever attended. It’s like a large living room full of people I really like to hang out with. I don’t always agree with everyone but I still like to hang out with them. BP and the members here have been there for me thru some bad times, the loss of both my parents and several other difficult times, like real friends would. I also know that kind of thing isn’t what this place is here for, but I’m truly thankful it was allowed.

BP, the moderators and the forum members create a very special place, let’s all try to keep it that way. You are “real” friends to me, I love y’all!

I feel for you and every person who works customer service in EBMM BP. I work in Navy foodservice and it is hard to strike the balance between catering to the customers' needs and being too accomodating. I also have to take the higher ground all the time so yeah, my responses are limited.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't indeed.
