Ok - so we all know that BP's favorite pickup configuration on the Sterling 4 is the HS.

BP - if you were going to build yourself a Sterling 5, how would it look? Pickup config, fretboard, color, etc. And why?

Thanks.

Im expecting BP to insert a "real men play 4 strings" comment here.:D

But isn't it true? When I was a kid (back during the Hoover Administration), I studied classical bass (you know, that big thing you can spin). Teacher was a retired Marine band AND orchestra man (yes, the Marines had a full string orchestra a long time ago). This guy - Louie Savarino (Fairfax, VA) has THE hugest freakin' hands on the planet..and built himself an 6 string upright. Used to play in Billy Martin's Carriage House in Georgetown. Anyway. Analogy, if you can shoot a .50 cal pistol without breaking your wrist, good, but if not, you'd better be the better shot!

OK back to the topic. If you all would like to speculate about how BP might build a Sterling 5 for himself - great.

I really would like to know BP's preferences on this one.

This was an "if you were to get one - what would it be" question. Thanks for answering.

I am not familiar with the new bright blue. Does it have a name?

Either that or you have an overactive imagination!
I say that more so about Dargin's comment on the silver. Nothing there says there are plans to make it available, except wishful thinking. :D
But yeah, if the Bongo does become available in that color, I'll be very much not a real man, since I'll be ordering a Silver Bongo 6 with the quickness.
