I've always wondered why the Bongo never came in Maple neck option, I have a feeling that it would be fantastic. But this is just my opinion. I love the feel of the bare guitar necks. I've used a Sub1 Guitar and the textured neck is nice, but it's just not the same to me.

Looks great!!!!

I took the neck back off the black sapphire Bongo last night to clean it up and apply gunstock oil.

So far, it looks great. I'll might buff it out when I get home and get it put back together. But, since I have a new Epifani 112UL showing up today, I'll probably wait until tomorrow to finish it up to give it plenty of time to cure.

For a neck that was picked to be covered in opaque black paint, it's fairly attractive. It has a couple of mineral streaks, but it also has some big quilt/birdseyes and some other random stuff going on. I can't wait to get it finished up.
