I think they also give you a laminated "shooting blanks" wallet card too, which could come in handy in "sticky" situations and courtrooms.

This thread has SO gone off topic, but here I am :D

I am not shifted that easily - just been busy with work and moving house of late - and my bass has been neglected so I feel ashamed.

But, despite now being in a flat (any tips on how to practice quietly in a flat would be appreciated!) I intend to get back on the wagon, so to speak :)

Nice to be missed! :p

Try one of these, can be had on Evilbay for £125.00. I got one last month, practicing at home solved :D

Tasty! Why can't bass goods come in funky colours like the guitar version of that? Would go very nicely with the DG Bongo I want!

What are the effects like on that?

I'd have to say that for my taste, the effects are not good. But it does what I really need it to do. It lets me play quietly when my kids are asleep, slow down parts I'm having difficulty with, and loop sections to hammer them into my rather feeble mind. I use it almost daily. The fidelity gets increasingly dicier the more you slow it down, but for me its just a tool, I don't need pristine audio. Thats what my stereo is for.

Get a Stealth and you'd be good to go!

The effects? Total toss....really. But, spend some time to play around with the eq and you can get your bass to sound good. Its not hi fi sound by any means but I prefer it to plugging in my bass to a Delta 66 soundcard on my pc and jamming along to MS Media player, its that good. For £125 quid I can't recommend it highly enough and it stops her indoors ragging on me for all the noise I make.

I run a cord from the line out on my Tascam into my stereo that I keep in my practice room. Then I plug my headphones into my stereo. That gets me a much, much better sound than I get by plugging the phones directly into the Tascam.

The effect on the guitar version of the Tascam are awful, too.. but it's better than nothing.

I'd try that Cafe Walter if I were you. It's a brilliant little device, and hand made.. something about hand wired stuff that appeals to me.

Thanks Guys - I've asked Dude what the price is for one of those and shippinng to the UK. Though whether I want to hear myself how I REALLY sound is debatable. I do like the idea of something that makes me sound better than I actually am ;)

Seriously though thanks - take it the same model works well for guitar and bass? If so the Mister may want one...
