Either way, I haven't owned a BFR and probably won't own (a brand new) BFR any time soon either so it doesn't directly affect me. But as a fan of the brand I would like it to see it make a return.

I never really thought I liked it when it was around, but now it's gone I can't help but think it was just as iconic as some have said; such as the PRS birds, or the Gibson custom Diamond pattern. Maybe like myself, it took the removal of it from the line for some of us to see it was pretty iconic of BFR series after all.

Was also quite surprised to the see the poll split pretty much 50/50 at this point. I really thought the inlay was a lot more popular than this suggests, maybe people are warming to the idea of not having it anymore. Will be interested to see how it all pans out in the end, whether it stays as it is now or it makes a comeback.

I voted yes, but i will say i dont mind either way, at first i did not like it, then it grew on me, I like the idea of having a top of the line axis bfr without the badge, the exquisite quilt top and flamed/ birds eye necks should speak for themselves.

I am not really a fan of the BFR badge on the 12th fret to be honest. I like the logo but Not on the 12th fret. For me the badge just screams out "look at me please", and I find that gaudy to my senses. Maybe if it was not so huge, and/or a bit more understated and subtle.

Or perhaps if it was a bit more over the top like a pair of steel or even brass balls or something. Now that would be more like it! 2 brass or steel balls for the inlay on the 12th would be outrageous in my opinion! Offer this as an option and I am sure some would buy it at a premium.

Here is the sales pitch...Only real men play a BFR...grab one and get a free "pair" at a store near you. LMAO

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

Tom

Imagine one of these options at your 12th fret. Talk about an ego boost! :D

I loved it. Never owned a BFR model but it was definitely one of the things that I was looking forward to having a guitar with a quilt top and - of course - the BFR emblem. But I agree with whoever said it in this thread before; Having it on only special guitars like the PDN-runs and special editions. Regular BFR line is perhaps better off without it.

So I'm assuming this means the Majesty will have not have a BFR badge as well? Thats fine. I'm sure it's going to look expensive as hell without one.

Like others said the BFR logo should be on limited editions. I'd go even further and suggest the BFR name (even on the backplate) should be on limited, or high end versions of models. I can understand the BFR Luke, JP, Axis and Albert Lee. But why is the JPX, XI and 12 a bfr? It's just a different instrument? Why is this a BFR?

I really thought the BFR logo looked horrendous on the 12th fret - just as I hate the "tree of life" inlay on Vai's guitars. Gaudy bling in my book...

Always has been many who did not like the BFR 12th fret logo, i never minded it but prefer the BFR That Top Sucks Tshirt

Need to find another since I wore mine out:)

Again I think the coolest thing would be a silk screen below the neck plate like a DD I

Either one is fine with me. I feel more passionately about bringing back trans colors...especially to the JP model.

Isn't Trans Black ("Black Burst") still available?

No! I don't think it ever was with stainless steel frets and the symmetrical shape. The JP12 in the Blue burst is more of what I was thinking...just in different trans colors and at the regular JP price.
