Hey there guys! I made a terrible decision with a highly recommended guitar tech to service my jp7 and jp6! After getting my 2 girls back home, I soon noticed the utter lack of skill, knowledge and professionalism this man possessed! I had him file the nut on the jp7 to allow for a larger string gauge! after acouple of trem dive bombs...bam!!! The nut cracked!! A chip on jp6, necks out, bridges not flat, uncleaned ect ect. Utter heart break!!! Anyway, I Got my refund plus more but now I need this fixed! How do I go about doing this?? Send the neck to ebmm to get the nut replaced? Thanks for any advice

Yes EBMM CS are excellent, they will sort you out. I am sorry to hear what has happened to your JP's, some people have no business going near a guitar.

I'm assuming you'll need a new compensated nut, yes? EBMM can send you the replacement nut but you'll need to find a new guitar tech to install it and correctly finish the slots. Seeing as you're in OZ, try the Music Man Australia distributors?

Ahh awesome! Thanks chaps, I'll make some calls. Yep, some Poeple just don't respect or look after someone's pride and joy! I will get on it tomorrow. Thanks again guys!

That sucks. As a guy who does tech work for people quite a lot, it disturbs me to hear of "techs" who claim to do good work doing very poor quality work, and worse yet, not taking care of other people's prized po$$essions. It just sucks. I hope you get it sorted out man...

Thanks guys! I'm gutted, but live and learn I quess! just finding a tech that will respect someone's instruments seems hard enough to find, let alone trustworthy quality workmanship! Disappointing!!! On that note, any Melbourne guitarist's got any tried and tested techs they could recommend? Thanks

That's so sad, I had a guy do a setup at GC in Boston on my brand new old stock peavey Wolfgang, the kid couldn't even set up a Floyd, had it floating and out of tune and the nut screws were loosened and the back plate was off and he rubbed steel wool on the neck after I told him not to, and to top it off, he scratched the top of my beautiful guitar when his screwdriver slipped across the top when he was trying to fiddle around with my bridge posts. When I picked it up I immediately said " what's this scratch?" He copped to it, and after all that I re set it up myself, and they gave me a refund and a $200 store credit for the the scratch, " which I will admit is very tiny" but IS on the top, . His name is Ari , and he works at the mass ave guitar center in Boston, steer clear, and keep rockin!

Never use a random or even recommended tech. Never! They all are scammers. Most hacks! Spend the money and ship it to the factory for a setup repair. It will be done right and with care. Especially MM Service. They hooked me up on my majesty and it's amazing. I would never! Let an outsider touch it. Ask for billy at MM. The best.
