I finally gathered up the courage to bring my shiny new SM-Y2D on the road with me this weekend. Luckily it made it to the gigs with no incidents.

I gotta say, this guitar sounds amazing. I didn't have my normal rig, so I had to play through a rental Triple Rectifier. I usually don't like the Triple Recs, but the Y2D made that amp sing! I heard a lot of comments on how great the new guitar sounded. Even our sound engineer gave it the thumbs up.

I took some pictures to document the guitar's first big gig.

Here's Buck Dharma testing out the new axe:

Here's a picture of Eric Bloom playing it. He actually used it for the one of the encore songs. Hopefully someone got a picture of that:

your Y2D is a killer!
and what the people said about the sound of the guitar must be true. a lot of different people told me the same.

It was a nice change of pace, although although after 16 years of playing EVH and Axis guitars, the 12 inch radius is definitely a bit of an adjustment.

Wow! Buck Dharma jamming on a Y2D. That is cool. One of the best shows I've ever seen was BoC about 16 years ago in Salt Lake City. Love me some Buck.

Looks great Rich and the Purple Sunset is one of mt all time favorite finishes, You guys also have some nice double bills with Foghat, Cheap Trick, Kansas and Meatloaf. Looking at the touring schedule you guys are going to be pretty busy, hope to catch a show!

@Brick. I'm actually in SLC now. We're doing a show with CCR in a few hours.

@Browndog We've embraced the cowbell....until 100 people with cowbells show up and start playing them. That gets a bit distracting LOL!

@Straycat The summer schedule is starting to fill up. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Kansas!

I'm pissed. If I had seen this a few hours ago I'd have come to the show. Didn't even know about it. I see that you are even playing at the Miller Motorsports Park. Why didn't I look at this thread earlier today? Why?

Don't worry Brick, it was cold and rainy and we only played for 45 minutes. Hopefully next time we play SLC it will be under better conditions.

I just hung out with the CCR guys for a bit and they all commented on the Y2D LOL. It looks like that guitar may have to become the main axe. Everyone is flipping out over that guitar!
