I have some Cd's somewhere, I was intrigued by him. Reminds me of Kiss with the make up first time around. I think from memory his name is Brian ? I believe he also played on some Guns and Roses stuff. Someone will correct me I'm sure.

Well, he is extremely talented to say the least. Weird would be putting it mildly.

He is a former student of Paul Gilbert's. He has done solo, work with the Deli Creeps, Guns N Roses and recently with Serj of System of a Down.

He is one of the few players that make me shake my head in astonishment and laugh.

Here's a good video from while he was playing with G'nR: http://www.youtube.com/?v=FHoH0Lqmj0k

Just be careful of the atonal mess that occurs when the other guitarist takes his turn.

that was one of the vids i saw...and the one w/ the puppet....woah, what a freaky guy!! but man, can he play!!!

Wow... atonal doesn't really do that justice. There's just so much that's wierd about that video, chickin' pickin' on a flying V and then that what ever you want to call it.

That's what's left of G'nR huh?

Buckethead is one strange dude with that damn puppet head he communicates through. Yow.

he was raised by chickens in a chicken coup. he apparently tought himself to play guitar by playing for stone statues in a local cemetary.

he quit guns n' roses in some kind of press release held by a finger puppet named "herbie" - but I heard that second hand, so I don't know if it's really true.

dave mckean directed an EXCELLENT video for "the ballad of buckethead" which featured les claypool on bass. check out his EARLY work with Praxis.

Here's the one with the weird puppet head thing:

There's another one on there with Kurt Loder interviewing the puppet, too.

good god. that's just a little un-nerving, isn't it.... I had to stop watching. it gives me the creeps and I've been a hard core buckethead fan since 91' or 92' - but that puppet really gets to me. no thanks.
