I had to join the club. Blank plank fretless 30th coming my way. I hope it's as pretty as Jack's.

I just realized today that all of the EBMM basses I have are either blank plank fretless (mg bongo 4HP, 30th SR) or green (green metal flake SR4, DD SR5HH). I wonder what that means?

I would auction off an ear to get a mahogany-bodied bongo.

Perhaps not my ear, but nonetheless...

'07 5Strings ??

KIds
Some of the other stuff we have offered has kind of overshadowed the 30th and it is my fault and kind of sad as this is the punchiest, most consistanly focused Singray ever. Add to that is that it is stunning.

Number 1 I stay away from chicked vs egg questions and opinions...but having said that I think that the bridge is a huge factor in sound along with pickups...I can take 10 different bridges on the same axe and it will sound so different/. Body woods next and then neck wood and then fretboard a distant 4th or 5th.

Why is the 30th SR "the punchiest, most consistanly focused Singray ever" ?? Is it the STB bridge, or the mahogany body ? :confused:

I'll be looking for another 5 string in '07, possibly fretless;
- I'm as interested in 'sound' as in 'stun'; and the SR5s I have now feel great;
- Am I waiting for a 20th SR5, or a Sterling 5 ??

Gig pics of the 30th in action tomorrow, I believe.

God, I hate packing up and loading in and all that.
