Some of the other stuff we have offered has kind of overshadowed the 30th and it is my fault and kind of sad as this is the punchiest, most consistanly focused Singray ever. Add to that is that it is stunning.

Let me give you a little insight into what we put into these things. Most neck blanks are around 10 bucks. The 30th blanks we $90.00 our cost. Dargie and the purchasing guys got into a bidding war with LEXUS! WE won.

Im saying this because I know steve has a few and I have seen afew at gc and sell something generic and buy on eof these as it will most likely only appreciate. (Remember I am not an investment advisor, dont try this at home, professional stunt driver, etc.)

BP, I think anybody who has played or is lucky enough to own one of the 30ths knows it should not be overshadowed by anything on the market. We appreciate all the amazing stuff you've been putting out there, and I'm anxiously looking forward to seeing what's in store for next year (and finding out what the hell BFR is, I just hope the R has something to do with a rosewood neck), but the 30th is a very special bass and I can tell you that mine isn't going anywhere. I hope and expect that it will appreciate in value, but even if it doesn't it sounds great and looks gorgeous. Plus, with all the variation in the birdseye necks and the grain on the bodies, they're all a little bit different. Keep 'em coming.

Oh, and nice bass, Jack. But you knew that.

Not your fault, boss. Not your fault at all - the way most if not all of us see it is that you've given us more choices than we could have ever imagined, and that can only be a good thing.

I resisted the 30ths because I'm such a Bongo Whore, but once I had a bit of time to spend with one (thanks, Tim), I realized that this was the Stingray I'd been waiting for. I can only hope that all of you guys get the opportunity to get some quality time with a 30th.

We rehearsed tonight and the Cowpilot Group has had enough experience with other basses to be suspicious when I bring something other than a Bongo in to play. What BP says is completely true. I think he might have called it the "Motown Stingray" the other day - and I agree. For those of you who dig the Stingray, remember: "the punchiest, most consistanly focused Stingray ever."

And in a seriously attractive package, eh?

.....sell something generic and buy one of these as it will most likely only appreciate.

I did. Not that anyone should follow my lead! But even if the 30th didn't stack up well against the Bongos (and it does), I'd be keeping this one as an investment piece.

Thanks, BP and Dargin and Dudley et al. I love this thing.

I agree with 100% with that. With a set of EB flats its great for that sound.

How about making a mahogany body an option?

That would diminish the specialness of the 30th, and it's not like EB doesn't give us enough options already. If you want a mahogany body SR, the 30th is it.

Muggsy, We have no plans for a Mahog body but I disagree that a mahog would take away from the 30th as long as we packaged it differently. Alo the world is a big place and with 750+ made of the 30ths there is a bigger demand.

I think some people would still like one of those mahogany Bongos, and that wouldn't make me feel one bit less special with my 30th.

All true. Obviously, I have no idea what sort of market demand there might be for a mahogany bodied SR as part of the regular line, but if the demand is there I'm sure you'll find a way to fill it. If you make one, I'm still keeping my 30th, because for me it's the ultimate Stingray.

I already have a 30th and it's special but I want to keep it special and have a "beater" that has the mahogany tone with none of the other 30th features.;)

Its the tone, once I plugged it in that was it.:)

An Anniversary celebrates a milestone. One that has past and will not happen again.

New designs are new. They too will have an anniversary 365 days after conception.

Time marches on. :)

now off to the dictionary to look up innovation. :D
