Hi,

I'm buying a JP6. With Piezzo and matching headstock, but without the JP inlays.

At first I wanted a Mystic Dream, but then I came on this forum and read about the 2007 LE. And after seeing the pics, I think I like Blue Dawn... the reason I'm not sure is that that color seem to vary a lot depending on the picture.

In the picture below (credits: Mr. DuBaldo), the JP6 really looks more cyan-ish than the Axis and the A. Lee:

I really like the deep blue color you see on some pictures like this one here (credits : fogman )

The variance is due, I guess, to lighting conditions and how they interact with the metal flake in the paint.

How does this color look in person? Does anyone have, or could take some, outdoor pictures of a Blue Dawn JP6 (or other model)? That would make me really glad, as I must decide on Blue Dawn before it's gone !

Thanks a bunch in advance :)

I asked Pete about his JP, and he reckons his is pretty much a one-off.

BP also assures me that the Blue Dawns are per the Namm Pics. :D
(Thanks DaveB)

I think the new Blue Dawn looks better than the original Blue Dawn, which was a nice color to start with.

Of course I am crazy, though.

My Blue Dawn JP is the only Blue Dawn I have ever seen without the super dark edge, and that's actually what turned me on to it from the very first pictures I saw of it.

Every other Blue Dawn I have ever seen is like the AL and Axis Sport in the top picture. That shot with DaveB holding the JP shows the flash washing out some of the burst, but this is pretty much exactly what Blue Dawn looks like everywhere else.....

The color is almost impossible to photograph so that it looks like it does in person.

The sparkles are really subtle under normal lighting, but when you look closely, they really stand out and the finish looks like it's about five miles deep.

All these are without flash. They are the very same Bongo in Pete's photo.

This one has a photo floodlight parked just out of frame.

Thank you all for the replies! Thanks Pete for the outside pic.

So Pete's a one-off, BP said it is per the NAMM pic... then sounds like I'm getting a Blue Dawn :D

I didn't say it was a one-off, I just said that I've never seen any others sprayed like that before :D
Maybe the painter was affected by the fumes a little bit more than usual that day. ;)
