In the next months I will buy a new JP6. Is something I sould be aware of? I know about the waiting time already.
Also I am not sure yet where should I buy this guitar from. I have the above options
1. Guitar store near me.
2. e-store (wich? I have seen some good prices at boxymusic.com)
3. some other option? (I am not looking for used)
I think that the guitar store near me prices are high. If it wasnt that I would be sure buy from there. He told me that the JP6 with piezo, without inlays, without matchind headstock prize is 2930 Euros (boxymusic.com 1930 euros). I live in Greece so buying from USA I dont think is an option since the customs take too much money.

Nexis....as well as Customs costs you will probably find that USA dealers are not prepared/allowed to ship guitars outside the USA.
If it were me I'd save €1000 and buy it on-line if you're sure that's the guitar for you. I assume the warranty would work from boxymusic and you'd have lots of money left for a set-up if there were any teething troubles. If the difference were less I'd usually try to support the ocal store, but 1000 is a LOT of Euros

.....though I would call them to make sure they have the guitar in stock & aren't going to take the full cost & then think about ordering it.
For example they appear to list every conceivable model of Gibson guitar, I can't believe thay have them all ready to ship, so there may be a wait involved

I have already send an email to boxymusic and they told me that they dont have it in stock and waiting time is at least 6 months. But this is also the case with the local store. Waiting time at least 3 months they told me

That's WAAAAAAAAAY too much. You could almost buy 2 JP6s with that amount of money...

hehe that solves my problem with the color.. I can choose a perl redburst and a Carbon Blue Pearl at the same time!!! But Which store in Europe have half prizes of the store near me???
The prizes at USA is ok but I can not buy from USA as I told before..

Hi nexis72

Being in the EU, I am confident that you could order from the UK.

DaveB of Machinehead here in England has supplied many forumites with Balls.

They have an 'as new' Pearl Blue JP on their site at the moment for approx 1700 Euros.

You could have this one in a week or two???:D

Thank you for the link.. Iwill not buy this guitar but I will check for prizes and maybe I could buy my guitar fron this shop. The reasons that I will not buy this guitar are. 1. has no piezo. 2. I want the new model with the d-sonic.

Would anyone of you buy a MM without playin it before?

I´m not sure if I should risk buying through the internet.

That is something I wanted to ask and have many opinions. Would you buy a guitar from e-shop?? I was told that musicman makes guitars at the same level of quality. So you can buy online wihout the fear that the particular guitar is not high quality. That is not the case with Gibson. Some are top quality some are not. So one sould never buy a gibson from an e-shop. Exept from the quality what other risk do someone takes buying from e-shop?

I would and have and am buying without playing the exact guitar, I see know problem if you know you like the model, plus thousands of grubby little fingers have not touched the axe, which for me is a plus.:)

Being a poor lefty & living in the middle of nowhere pretty much all my guitars have been bought without trying them (lots from EBay)including a very nice red sparkle Silhouette Special from the USA. We lefties rarely get much chance to try out guitars.....lots of music shops just have one Squire Strat (except for my visit to the earthly paradise that is Southpaw Guitars of Houston.

I bought both my Silo Spec and Stingray over the internet without playing them before.

In addition, I had never even played any Silo Specs before I opened the case of the one I purchased. I did my research, and figured it would fit my style of playing very well - I was right!

My father did the same thing with his Silo Spec. And I didn't play the particular JP i bought either, I just tried one out at a store.
