you've been quiet lately Joe

colin, you are right. haven´t been around so often here the last few weeks.

Banjo, EBMM doesn't have a custom shop, every guitar is special. According to BP they offer like 8 gazillion different combinations. Hahahahahahaha

BP's thoughts http://www.ernieball.com/forums/59880-post1.html

If it's here: http://www.ernieball.com/mmonline/specs/

Then they still offer it and make it.

yes, the point is right, if you want a JP in a common color with no special options, you can get it in a few days, because there are always some in stock at the distributer, but if you want something special or an old SM model, they have to order it from EBMM.
so they tell the "stupid" folks over here, that these are custom shops or custom orders.....bla bla bla
that´s buisness. ;)

btw. really nice guitar!

as i tested the oldschool morse a few month ago, i recognized, that the humbuckers have less output compared to the Y2D.
due to this, i´m happy i bought the Y2D, so there aren´t too many gain differences when i change my guitars live.

but over all, the blue own is still in my mind....and maybe the luke i tried two weeks ago.... ;)

Hello,
I have bought the blue one. One picture is attached. When the light is better i try to take some better pics and post them/link them.
I played it the whole evening and it´s just so comfortable, so easy to play. Best guitar I ever played. The neck is so smooth and the body so light.

So wait for the pics.

I know about the higher output of the Y2D Humbuckers. This is a thing that was announced, when the Y2D turned out. But I think the output of the old is also not too weak. I mean, you can rock with it, though it is a Dixie-Country-Guitar ;)

I have both models and notice no difference in output. I also have not heard about the Y2D having a higher output. Make sure you post pics as that looks sweet....

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet guitar! Congrats! (I'm a huge fan of this guitar in case you hadn't noticed ...)

The pickups in the Y2D are a bit hotter- apparently they were made hotter so Steve could have them set lower, further away from the strings, and get the same output. So there ya go :)

You will have no problems whatsoever rocking out with this guitar :D

Hi there, over the day I took some photos which are available here: banjopayer/EBMM Steve Morse - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It is to say, that it looks totally different under different light conditions. In reality it is very dark (like on the pic at page 1 of this thread). I tried to capture this on the pics taken on the sofa, which are a little dark. But around midday with some natural light, it appeared in a very light blue on the photos - but only on the photos?!? So, I think it is a little bit tricky to take a picture with the same colour, than it has in reality. Anybody else did this experience? Funny...

Again with the "custom shop thing". The point I didn´t it was, that I was told, it would take 6 months to wait and costs 1,5-times as much.

Does anybody have an idea, how much Morse-Models werde sold in the last 20 years?

I've tried both. I don't like the original Morse enough to buy one. I love the Y2D. Maybe, it's because of what you say--that the pickups are hotter in the Y2D.
