buzzing G string on Sterling AX40

Yesterday I picked up a new AX40 at Guitar Center, and, after adjusting the relief on the neck, I noticed that the G string is still buzzing. Only the open string buzzes; it stops when you fret it anywhere on the neck. Nut issues? Would shims help?
