I buy my cables from a music store here in town, Murphy's Music. They come with a lifetime warranty and I've never needed to use it. I've got a couple of cables from them that are probably 12+ years old. Nothing special, just a cable.

I think talking about cables is a symptom of our overall sickness.

Although really, I'm not that sick just yet. Freaking cables.

WHat's next? TECHNIQUE?

My experience...

I've used alot of different cables but the ones I use the most are EB Ultraflex and Planet Waves twisted pair. I heard about Monster having reliability problems and couldn't justify the expense for them. I used Ernie Ball Ultraflex up until they changed their angled connectors to the "3-piece" type. I had a couple of those break (the small part on the back), so I switched to the PW. They seem to be intelligently designed, especially for the noise-cancelling properties of thje twisted pair (not the single wire). They're priced right between EB and Monster. The only thing is you can't fix them too easily, but so far they seem pretty durable. They sound clean and open, which is what I like.
