I had been using planet waves, but I just got hold of a Monster Cable.

HELL YEH..... I have noticed a difference in my sound. (for the better).

George Ls. But I don't know that it matters much once you get into the "decent" cable range. Petrucci uses Planet Waves so there you go.

Although I will say this... I once made my own custom AC power cord with an IEC socket. I then modified a DVD player that had a hard-wired AC cord, installed an IEC recepticle in it and used my braided custom made cord and swear, the picture was a bit more "noise-free" than before. I also use Canare cable and ends for A/V cables and can't really say I see/hear a difference. The benefit is knowing that I'm getting quality cable and connectors and being able to make the exact length I need.

Monster cables are much better than PW. I've used PW for 2 years but whan i try monsters i forgot PW :) Monsters are morr transparent and they dont curl like PW...

I wire my pedalboards up with george l's and use mogami or spectraflex quad conductor for everything else.

I'm also a big pro-co silent excalibur fan too. I agree though that once you get into a certian strata of cable quality, it's doesn't matter an astounding ammount - it all comes down to little, hard to define, personal prefrences.

now guitar stands... there's something I can rattle on about....

I've tried 'em all. The only one I buy now is by Pete Cornish as used by Jimmy Page and Dave Gilmour amongst others. Buy the cable and forget about buying another! It will last a lifetime. Check them out at www.petecornish.co.uk

Hey Jonny - Believe it or not I live in Clarkston. It's a long way from Dubai but a short walk to Newton Mearns. Ain't the world a small place!

Bill Lawrence low-capacitance cables. Awesome awesome stuff. Use the small connectors for my pedalboard.

how is the zaolla? I thought about getting a couple last year, but if I remember correctly, it was quite expensive.

Planet Waves. I have found that as long as you spend at least £20, it doesnt make a great deal of difference. By the time the drummer is crashing away you can' hear the difference a 'hi-fi' cable will make.
