He probably wouldn't thank me for telling you but Albert Lee is 70 this year!

He's working as hard as ever and playing better than ever.....a lesson to us all!

We are planning a few things this year to celebrate this milestone and this is the first:

When Albert was last in the UK he popped into Strings & Things and signed seven of his guitars on the back of the body for us.....we then had them refinished to protect the signature.

They come with a photo of Albert holding the guitar and a certificate of authenticity signed by Albert and Andy Cocklin, Strings & Things General Manager.

These are the instruments:

921-75-11-01 Serial No G52494
Piezo, SSS, hard tail, maple neck in Black Cherry Burst with matching headstock and a black pick guard.

920-56-10-05 Serial No G62675
SSS, hard tail, maple neck in Trans Blue with a white pearloid pick guard

920-02-10-05 Serial No G61378
SSS, hard tail, maple neck in White with a white pearloid pick guard

955-ED-RW-02 Serial No G55000
HH, trem, all rosewood neck in Eldorado Gold with a white pick guard

950-93-RW-05 Serial No G53288
HH, hard tail, all rosewood neck in Coral Red with a white pearloid pick guard

955-62-RW-01 Serial No G62663
HH, trem, all rosewood neck in Trans Walnut with a black pick guard

930-76-10-01 Serial Number G61864
3 x MM90, hard tail, maple neck in Pacific Blue Burst with a black pick guard

The only extra charge for this is what it cost us to have the preliminary work and the refinishing done, about £200.

These are unique instruments available to order from your favourite Music Man Dealer.
Guitars 4 you have already bought the Coral Red one.

Photos?? ... Watch this space - they will be posted soon.

edit
Ming has asked me to do a favour - he is really tied up with meetings all day and has had them e mailed to me.
I'm finishing work now. When I get home I'll put them on Photobucket and get them up here.

Wow I did not realize Albert was that old but then again that whole click Page,Beck, Clapton and Keef are all about to hit that number.I think Albert's story is still the most mind boggling since he ended up in the world of Country music becoming a legend in that genre. I just picked up this months Guitar Technique and they have a full tabbed version of Albert & Hogans Hero's- Tear it Up- which had me psyched as it is chocked with 8 ripping solo passes full of classic country licks. Though the break neck pace of 256bpm's is going to make this a serious challenge lol. That was super cool of him to take the time to sit and sign those guitars= Total class act!
