Is the date correcct? I understood unfinished necks have only been around for a few years. Also, my 1994 'Ray has a satin finished neck!!???

Hi all,

My sources tell me we did switched over to oil and wax sometime in 1993. Which I implied a little earlier .

The "satin" finish was a conversion varnish which we called a"velvet finish".

Neck finish Timeline :Lacquered Neck 80's -"Velvet Finish" early 90's oil and wax -approx 93 till present.

At this time I'm checking to see when we switched from High gloss lacquer to "Velvet"
