Calling JP Owners with Tremel-No, I Have a Problem

So I've had a Tremel-No on my JP for a few months now and it's worked as advertised no doubt. Fast forward to yesterday, I locked it all down to make changing strings easier and as soon as I let all the string tension off, the pin popped out the trem block. Took a look at it and the pin was bent! I know by design it had an overall slant to it but I mean the bottom half of the pin is bent almost 90 degrees. Has anyone had this happen? I remember when I was putting it on, I spent more time futzing around with the pin adjustment, loosening, tightening, spacers, etc to try and get it right.

The tremol-no is not designed to bear the full force of the springs when all the strings are removed unfortunately. I have had a similar thing under different circumstances. You just have to very carefully bend it back to straight.

As I say, it won't take the whole force of the springs without strings, at least mine certainly never would.

Yup, it's not designed for that. Either change the strings one at a time or block the trem before you take off all the strings. Email Kevan at T-no for a relplacement.

Thanks guys, I figured it was my own stupidity that caused the problem! I dropped Kevan an email about getting a replacement pin, in the meantime I will try to carefully bend my pin back into shape.

Well I bent it back to almost straight and re-installed, so far so good. Hopefully I can still get a replacement pin from Kevan at some point.

Wow. If it can't take the strain, in my mind what good is it?

For me a strip of wood and 2 faced tape is easier, and more stable, lus you get better transfer with wood.

Have you tried the tremono forum?

tremel-no and JP guitars are the most mismatched concept EVER.

The JP is the most stable non-locking bridge on the market.
