it seems that i am hearing two sides of a coin about the pups in my AXIS:confused:
steve blucher at dimarzio tells me they are the SAME EXACT wind, magnet, etc as the EVH set from the EBMM sig guitar only they now have 4 conductor wiring?
then there are others who swear they are not the same wind at all:confused:
please clear this up:(

According to dimarzio and IMHO they are the same, with the exception of the wire(was 3, now is four) this was due to the super sports 5 way switch for coil tapping.
earliest EVH sets had brass plates and were not painted black. they all have a N 2 and B 1 engraved in the plate to identify the bridge and neck ones.
it should also have a dimarzio pickups made in U.S.A engraved.
the neck pup will has a round red sticker to identify the "air bucker" design.
on old originals it says "patent applied for" and on newer ones it has the patent number "#5,399,802.
