Hi guys, I have this unusual EBMM Silo which I bought on a whim about a year or so ago and I am now thinking of selling it on as I haven't really used it much. I'd like to find out a bit more about it in order to give a full description to potential buyers. As you can see it is a Silhouette with a longer scale length somewhere between a guitar and a bass. I believe it was advertised as a tenor guitar when I bought it but I can't find any info on the net, google just brings up results for baritone guitars. It's in great shape and finished in 'Blue Dawn'.

I presume they were a limited run at some point?

If any of you experts can give me some more info I would be extremely grateful. :)

That is a Silo Bass guitar(baritone), man and blue dawn sweet! Go to the Music Man website they still make these to get full specs, being blue dawn its kind of a rare bird:) Can be tuned to E to e or A to a, they produce sets of strings for both.

Good luck on the sale.

Looks like a Silo Bass. If I remember correctly, the first was designed for Keef. Can be tuned to E (6 string bass tuning - one octave below standard guitar tuning) or A (baritone tuning). Music Man still makes them and JP used one prior to having the BFR Baritone Petrucci made. There doesn't appear to be 2007 inlay at the 12th fret which was part of the limited run Blue Dawns, so it's possible this is one of the original Blue Dawns.

That's interesting, so it is a baritone silo then. Thanks for the info guys, much appreciated.

I have it tuned in E an octave down from normal and is like a bass for guitar players. A lot of fun for sure but I really don't get enough use from it to justify keeping.

i use mine tune from B to b - not a big fan of 7-stringers, but need some b-tuning as well. so the silo bassguitar was the best thing for me.

Definitely original blue dawn. The limited edition had a "2007" inlay at the 12th fret.
