Hey Tom,

Do you mean a "stoptail"?? If so, the answer is yes. You just need to get someone with a little guitar mod skill to do it.

If you do it correctly, it can be changed back again to its original state anytime.

Hey, woah!

Hold on there!

There are actually alot of Floyd fans out there, and a Luke with a factory installed Floyd Rose is pretty rare.

Before you mod your Luke, you should Ebay it, and see what you can get. Set your reserve for what it would cost to buy a new, non-floyd Luke, and you could end up with a brand new one.

Can you post some pics?

Both great, but very different beasts.

Though i've not used one, I would say look at a treml-no...
If you just want to lock the bridge in place, block the trem with wood.

Hey Thomas, I have a Silo with Floyd Rose. At least, I made it original as I bought it with the mod you are talking about.
It was made with stoptail: it had a custom made black wooden block in the aperture of the Floyd trem with a Shaller stoptail on top of it.

I did not like the mod: the balance of the Silo was not good. Now, in original state, it is perfect.

If by "normal system" you mean the vintage trem found on the current model, I'd say there's no reasonable way to do it. You'd be better off selling your's and getting a newer one.

Hey Thomas,

As I was cleaning up my cupboard with guitar stuff, I stumbled upon the piece of wood that fits in the aperture for the Floyd Rose in the Silo, the one I mentrioned in my reply on your thread, along with the Schaller stoptail.
Again, as other knuckleheads here stated, it is better to leave it original.
But, if you are interested, I can send it to you for a friendly price. I am living in the Netherlands.
Just let me know.

+1 for the Tremol-No.
I just put one in my JP7 and it's great! In a few seconds I can go from full floating to dive only to totally fixed with the turn of a couple thumb screws. Plus, it'll cost a whole lot less then switching out the whole trem. And if you don't like it, it comes right out and requires no mods to the the guitar other than swapping out the spring claw for the trem.
