...how come I don't see Spud playing prog ?! ;)

Great catch, mate - and at a very attractive price ! ! !

Cool stuff, Fred ! That's what makes this forum !
Beej offered me help long time ago with my Pearl Lavender Silo SPecial. Luckily, I didn't have to bother him, but always highly appreciated ! ! !

Cheers

Dang Spud! What took you so long?!!

Welcome to the best club EVER! :D

If I were a bit more successful I'd be in the Luke, AL, and Silo clubs as well...

Hey Kev,
No problem. Congrats, that was quite a score if I have to say so myself.

I went and looked at it and told the guy I might be interested but would get back to him. After I reported back to Spud about the details he said to go for it.

I made the guy an offer and I thought he was going to blow me off. I was getting ready to leave on Thursday for a fishing trip for the weekend when he called back and said he'd take the offer. I made a beeline over there before he changed his mind and collected the guitar and the original pickup. I'll swap it out and get the Peavey EVH back to him.

It's a roadog and needs a little TLC bit for that price it was a steal. Why he decided to paint a Mystic Dream Pearl White is anybody's guess.

I'll take some pics and post the before shots and Spud can post the after shots...

Fred
That was a great gesture on your part - Once again thank you very much for everything you have done for me.
I look forward to seeing some more photos but as you have more pressing commitments, just take your time on that one. .

It could become the first 24 fret/AL with chambered body/Piezo/Pet trem/ HSH guitar/swamp ash body.
- but I'd have to give it a good play in it's present format
-anybody give shredding lessons? ;)

Wow... I'm pretty sure that's a sin to do that to a MM guitar!

What are your plans for the finish, spud? What about a natural JP?! That would be pretty cool, but I don't think basswood is known for it's looks... Keep us informed!

I know - why respray a mystic dream??

But still it's condition is reflected in the price.

I will leave it as it is for now but if I did respray it - I would do it in black.

I'll see what the wood is like before I do it, to see if leaving it natural is an option.

Because the headstock has been sprayed I'd need to consider making a silkscreen to get it looking like it's orininal guise.

Plans are pretty fluid at the mo, but if I can't get on with the position of the lower toggle switch I am seriosly considering making another body out of swamp ash - that way I would have 2 guitars (well one and a half really).

I love the Pet neck - I was so surprised when I tried one.

Going by Fred's pictures the neck has some great figuring.

Looking forward to this!!!

I really do not mind the battle scars on it.
My Les Paul earned it's keep and it also has the scars that could tell a few tales.

I love my Als and my EVH but it's like walking on eggshells trying to keep them in that condition.

I'll give the JP some TLC that's for sure, but I have ideas floating around.

Guitar with Piezo for the $ that I paid for it - great deal I say.

I think the saving grace is that I know one of the best guitar makers in the UK and will be seeking advice from the ol' sage.

K-spud! Congrats on the find. With your skills that JP will dress up nice. Keep us knuckleheads up to date on the make over. This will be fun to sit back and watch a master work.
