Why? We Bongoloids are happy with our necks.

And "probably" is way different than "possibly".

why? because Ernie Ball always does this.

I remember making a thread asking for exotic wood tops, and lots members (i think even Sterling Ball) commented saying that its not going to happen, look at what did happen. they made exotic tops. It doesn't just stop there though, I'm sure other members asked and got told no, and then it happens several months later.

We are not doing it now, is not we will never do it.

Same thing happened when people asked why the stealth Bongo wasn't offered with an ebony board. It wasn't an option for several years, until recently.

Who knows? I surely don't and Ebmm loves to surprise us. That is what makes this ride so fun for me.

I don't see why they would offer a Sterling neck option on the Bongo. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Bongo neck is already thinner front to back than the Stingray. To me, the Bongo already feels about as thin as my jazz bass(front to back) but with a wider nut, which makes it feel "flatter" than the jazz. But it feels great to me and I love jazz basses. So the only real difference would be the nut width which is pretty minor. Also, it seems to me if they opened this can of worms than they would have to offer every other neck option people have asked for. Like Stingray necks on Sterlings or Stingray necks on Big Al etc, etc. But then again maybe they will do this.

Yes I agree. I'm more of a just play the name thing and keep the selection simple. However if there's a profit in it then they will most likely do it. I have small hands and love the stingray neck and the sterling neck and the bongo neck. It's what gives the basses their character.

Stingrays should have stingray necks
bongos should have bongo necks
sterling should have sterling necks.

Don't like it? Either grow a pair or go custom. You can't please everyone and I dot see it important to try.

Yea
I like my neck, gotta admit it
I'm faster with a 1.5" though

I concur. My favorite neck is still the Sterling, followed by Bongo. I can't play a Stingray neck. But offering choices is an excellent idea as we can never agree on the perfect neck...

My vote goes to offering choice of neck widths.

Although I sort of like this idea for new instrument orders, it would be hell for the used market. And then, why not add finish options: Oil & wax, velvet, gloss. Frankly, I'm happy I like the StingRay as it is, and don't have to think about this...

BTW, about 15 years ago I thought that the StingRay neck is to wide for me. The Sterling neck felt much better but I always wanted the StingRay looks and sound. However after playing 5 string Laklands for almost ten years, the 'Ray necks feels now very comfortable and thin! So, it has nothing to do with your fingers, but with your brains.

I've never thought the Stingray neck was in the same league as, say, most Precision bass necks, but that's what people compare it to.

Not I, not I.
