I'm considering going with the Silo. Bass guitar,
I like to play bass, tuned E-E,usually for my songs where i take a solo.

up to now,I've used basses with 2" nut widths,
Carvin 6's and Modulus Q6 both have a 2" nut..I've always wanted to go 1 3/4" or 1 7/8",I even considered modifying a SR,but the pole peices won't line up if I added a string,I figure I can use a Fender Bass VI,build a custom,or try one of these.

My question is..
1.With a .90 guage E string,is it meaty enough to really get by playing basslines? or will it affect technique and tone too much, the thin guage?

2. Did anyone spot a Sillouette Bass Guitars w the Dargie's II packgage?

I play a Silo bass so perhaps I can help you out here.

Pro's:
Ease of play more fast, less stretch. More bend on the strings, but not like you bend guitar strings. Switching between simple chords and bass parts at will is doable. Has it's own sound.

Cons:
It will never to my ears truly sound like a longscale bass in pitch or tone. But I play thru an Ampeg B100R (15" speaker) with sometimes the deep button on so it's close. I use the Eball E-e strings set made for this bass.

I've posted b4 on the Silo Bass
