I can't seem to get a confirmation on this. I just scored (for a very very good deal I might add) another MM-90 Axis Sport but it does not have the original case which would be a G&G case. Is it possible to buy one or do I just need to monitor ebay?

Nope. They were black G&G cases that looked like vintage Fender cases but smaller. Very cool!

If I can't find one I might buy one of those in the link though. I will keep my eye on the used market first though.

I don't like to use the G&G case for my Axis Tribute because it is heavy to lug around. Instead I use a Mono M80 gig bag when I go to my guitar lessons. It doesn't totally replace the need for a hard shell case but if you already have a hard shell case you might consider this. It is almost as protective as a hard shell case...

Tell me more about the G&G case, please - because I have one! :)

I bought my first Music Man just last Saturday (February 16th) - a Steve Morse Blueburst (5-bolt) - and the guy I bought it from said he got it used in about 1999. I drove five hours to meet him (not kidding on that part!) and when I saw the G&G case I thought it wasn't original as I was used to seeing the hardshell cases these days.

Haven't yet submitted the serial number in the thread above to see exactly when my guitar is from - but am pleasantly surprised to see the case I got was original! :)

I know they came with the EVH model and the early Axis models but didn't know they came with anything else. I guess it was their main case style in the 90's. It looks like a classic Fender case but it smaller in length to perfectly accomodate the Music Man guitar.

Both my Luke's have the G&G vintage style cases. I need to source another for when I buy my new L3. It seems this is difficult to do. My questions, if your case 'does it's job' and sacrifices it's life to save your guitar, and the case needs replacing, how would one go about it?

My Piezzo Axis has the original case black and it knocks the Fender ones into a cocked hat, really great case and I understand hard to come by. In my opinion worth hanging out until the correct item pops up.
