They have been discontinued for several months now.

You can still find some New Old Stock (NOS) in stores though. The chances? I have no idea about the numbers.

You can't order a SUB now. Your best bet is finding dealers with them in stock, or ebay etc. Great axes.

I ordered mine yesterday after a good while spent phoning up all the ebmm dealers in the uk to find one...

There are a couple last ones shipping out apparently, but no new orders, so it's really down to finding somewhere that has some left in stock

With a morning "Tip O' the Hat" to Pete D, Audio Classics still has several in different varieties. We're in Vestal, NY.

Having said that, I'd also like to mention that I've been hanging hwere for awhile now and never mentioned that I was a Music Man dealer. It just didn't seem right to me as I'm a fan first and a dealer second. BUT, as I began to get emails from readers who found out about it I've decided to come out of the closet. I have no intention of becoming a SPAM machine but I guess that it's a good thing for readers here to know that not only is EB listening to what you want---so are their dealers. :^>)

There are still some SUB 5's out. If I were you I would check the dealer inventory on the MM site and start calling. One suggestion also is that make sure you get the active pickups instead of the passive pickup version of the SUB5s.

I bought a used SUB4 a few months ago for well under $500 as an experiment.

Anyways, my Fender P and J basses have new owners thanks to eBay and the SUB blows away any Fender I have played.

My Bongo5 is even better.

Minor point - the pickups aren't active, the preamp is.

Other than that, I fully recommend buying a SUB from either Pete or Rich.

(Wasn't Pete and Rich the name of a Tubes album?)
