I met Brent at the clinic today nice guy, nice guitars and although i didn't take any pictures. I can say that i enjoyed that clinic.

Very cool. Brent's a cool guy. I'm sure some pics will show up eventually. I couldn't get to any of the clinics this week. Just bad timing.

I went to Victoria, BC last year and they kept me at the border for 2 hours asking me questions, searching me, and calling the person I was going to visit before they finally let me through.

When I came back to the states I wasn't looked at twice or searched ever. I get a strange feeling that our border security is simply an illusion.. either that, or I didn't look terrifying enough. :D

It all depends on your licence plate - when we travel to the States there is often a delay with citizenship checks, questions about your first pet, although it rarely degrades into a "frisk-fest"...I have seen the inside of the office at secondary a few times though. Coming back to Canada, never a problem.

Entering another country = delay.
Coming home = no problems.

When my girlfriend and I went to Canada (at Niagra) there were no problems. We were in her car with Virginia plates, and she holds an American passport. They did look in the trunk, but didnt want to see anything else. On the way back to the USA, the border person was more surprised that I could be bothered to have a relationship with somebody who lives overseas 'For just a girl....?!?' I think she (the border guard) must have been through a string of bad relationships going by the look she gave me!

The Albert Lee clinic, Saturday August 11, Markham

Man, where do i start...the begining, i guess...lol:)

I left my house at 5:30 AM Saturday morning...it was a great drive! Arrived at the Long & MccQuade store about 1:30 pm. The staff at the store were just the nicest group of people...very hospitable!!!

Glen and Albert showed up for soundcheck shortly after. Albert took a brand new guitar off the store rack and proceeded to do the final setups on his rig.

After sound check, Albert, Glen and a couple guys from the store went out to grab a bite to eat, so i hung out at the store and tried out some guitars...i finally played a JP!!!! (pretty cool:)) They had a great selection of EBs!!! (a black sparkle Morse w/ floyd, used)

About 3:30, it was showtime.....

...and then Albert began to light up the place....

...betwwen songs, he was telling some incredible stories about becomming a musician in england as a young man, and how his career progressed through the 60s, 70s, 80s, ----to present...some of his stories were just too cool, about his playing w/ Clapton really got my intrest, and his guitar gift from him! He was very funny and very fun to listen to!:)

Eventhough Albert had a flight to catch, he made time for everybody in attendance!!! There was a great Q & A session after his last song. This was a fun time for everybody! Young and old waited patiently to have a chance to meet Mr. Lee. I waited my turn and made it up to the table where i place my 2 EBs on the table. Albert was a little surprised, i think to see one person w/ 2 of his guitars! He really looked twice at the Dargie and commented on the fact that he saw another the night before! LOL!!! I thanked him for putting on such a great event, then one of the hightlights of my day took place.....

What can i say, it was just a fantastic day!!!

I would like to thank Glen for all of his hospitality (especially the front row seat:)) and the cool SWAG!!! Also would like to thank BP for making these events possible....and most of all Albert Lee, his playing was incredible and he is a true gentleman, i feel very lucky to have met him and have his signature on my guitars!!!

Later that night i was reflecting on the day...in my lil hotel room in Markham, Ontario...i couldnt help but get an Albert out and strum on it a bit...LOL:) and i took this collage picture last night in my room, i was so glad i made the trip!

In closing, if anybody has a chance to see Albert Lee, wether it be a clinic or otherwise, you must do it.... his playing is just so friggin' awesome, i was dumbfounded!!! It was a great time!!!

Thanks for sharing, Brent. I'm glad you had a good time.

I almost fell over when I saw this picture. The Pacific Blueburst looks amazing on the Albert Lee.
