I was recently shopping for a guitar. I have a Sterling HS and a Mustang bass. I was wanting to get a nice six string to add to the collection. I started with a MIM Telecaster, which was really quite nice, but I wanted more. I then exchanged it for a MIA Strat. The MIM Tele actually seemed nicer than the MIA Strat. Then, the gates of heaven opened and I saw a candy red, Silhouette with a pearloid pickguard hanging in the "special room" at GC. The Silhouette was perfect and I bought it pretty much due to my positive experiences with my Sterling. It was unmolested by the hoards of teen shreaders.
Of course this being Guitar Center, all was not well. They brought out the case and it had been crushed so bad that it had multiple cracks. It surprised me that the sales guy didn't seem to be bothered by it. I asked for another case. It too was cracked. Finally, the third time was a charm.
The Silhouette is a pleasure to hold and to play. I have teamed it up with a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue. The two were made for each other.
