I've been a longtime EBMM user but recently ditched my axis and silo for a PRS McCarty rosewood.........shouldn't have. The PRS is great and all but you forget why you came to Musicman in the first place, playing my mates two silos brought it all back so I'm returning to the fold.

I thought I'd go for something new and being a huge Morse fan (he turned me on to Engl at a clinic) I thought I'd go for a Y2D. But they are so bloody rare it's unbelievable.

So I've got my PRS up for sale on the birds and moons forum and I'm keeping my eye out on eBay, any good dealers in the UK/Europe (import from US is 20%) you guys know of? or better yet any of you considering parting with one in the near future?

Also I've seen pictures of the Y2D with Cream pups which looks awseome but all the ones for sale in the US have black......are cream pups an option?

fuzzracer - the Y2Ds you've seen with cream pickups are prototypes; I believe Steve has one of them and uses it from time-to-time. Also, Musician's Friend still uses a photo of the prototype on their website, adding to the confusion.

The color of the pickups on the Y2D depends on the color of the guitar:

Purple Sunset has purple pickups
De-Purple burst also has purple pickups
Tobbaco burst has black pickups

Hope that helps, and good luck on your search.

EDIT: oops - the blue to purple burst is acutally "De-Purple Burst" not "Deep Purple Burst"; fixed my post above

That is a nice PRS!

Thanks, shame I can't keep it......cash is tight at the fuzzracer household these days...........I remember having four EBMM's and a mesa rack. *sigh* bloody kids, bloody Gordon Brown and his bloody 10p tax rate abolition, not to mention my new mortgage rate...... :*(

Try DaveB as well. He may have some at his shop. Hit him up with a PM.

Good Lord, that is a huge picture:D.
Ahh, so another fellow former EBMM user got snuckered into the PRS McCarty Rosewood hype, I see. See guys, I'm not the only one who makes these mistakes:p.
I hear ya, man. I think I got the McCarty after briefly possessing the Axis Rosewood, thinking that perhaps that the mahogany body would sound better than the basswood (or something stupid like that). Ehhhhhh (family fued buzzer sound), WRONG!
Should've kept my damn 20th Ann. Silo. I'll be kicking myself for a long time for that one.
I'll be posting mine up for sale soon too. Good luck and good luck finding your Y2D. Never played one, but if it's an EBMM, I'm sure it's just as good as the others.
