"Safe" depends on your personal definition of the word.

It's only as strong as its weakest link. Anything can fail if subjected to enough abuse.

Think of it as you would a parachute harness. How overbuilt does it need to be before you'll trust it?

My strap (photo earlier in the thread) does not rely on stitching or any connectors at all. Just leather, and lots of it.

Right... for the time being and not being able to source a Levi's strap here in the Greatness of Britain (as if) I got this suede covered all leather strap with a nice comfortable cushioned pad which is more or less similar in construction to the Levi's ones and with no plastic buckes at all. Of course Ernie Ball strap locks are immediately in place!

haha gotten! But then..... mine has got EB straplocks and I do own a EB strap but that's for my little guitar, not for ze bazz!!

Oh and I didn't intend to scald lawdaddy I was actually feeling guilty that it was me who caused him to mention his strings, they just looked odd to me.
