I know someone's probably asked this and I'm probably opening a can of worms, but can we get 1 contoured musicman? I would die and go to heaven if we saw an axis with this top. I don't know what it is but they sound fuller/better to me. I love my 25th...it is the best guitar on the market... Innovative in the combination of being chambered and having a toneblock, but I still feel like its missing some warmth/resonance(don't know) without a contour. Anyways, hate to complain about the best guitars, but maybe in five years we could see it or special order for it?!? I'm probably the lone wolf, but maybe if anyone else feels the same about carved tops we could see some. Thanks for reading my post! Have a great weekend everyone!

How could you post this? My uber-modified sub 1 with body and forearm contour and faux binding with silo spec pickups and silent circuit and tru oil'd neck is just fine.

Now you have me looking at it and thinking it's the best candidate out of the bunch to carve out and make into a carved top.

Grrrrrrr!

Are you "sure" it is a tone thing?! I think you really just love a "slightly" raised palm when your playing. Which isn't a bad thing at all (don't get me wrong). I've personally just never thought that the arch added to the tone in any substantial way, otherwise, wouldn't all guitars then have this??

I'm certainly no expert but an arched top or back for that matter would only make a difference in tone on an acoustic instrument.

That's one reason I like the arch is having my hand raised. I guess my hands are kind of small and it feels awkward with the flattop. I don't know if arch tops are thicker, but it seems like there is a slight tonal difference. I guess it varies from guitar to guitar. Whether or not it's tonal I like em and wish we could see an axis or reflex with it. IMHO the reflex is the most incredible guitar I've seen in a while. It would be great to see a limited run arch just for grins. Thanks for your input. I guess not many people like the arch cause there's not many responses.

Hey JVH,

I love the arch tops too!! It's funny, because I've always tried to decide which I like better (flat or arch), but the truth is I like them both. The tone thing is a little more complicated due to the addition of wood on the arch, however, I've always stood by the fact that the heart of the guitar (tone wise) by faaaaaaaaaaaaar is the delicate choice of "PICKUPS"!!!

So I usually pick a guitar for FEEL, ACTION, etc. . . then I snap in my favorite bridge pickup (I don't use the neck pickup) Wah - lah - ready for the flags to come down!
