Hello Everyone,
I've been watching this forum for a while and decided to jump in.

I have a couple of quick questions for you...

How often do you have CD's printed?
How many do you usually get when you have them made?
Do you do most of the artwork and cover design yourself or do you use an outside artist?

The reason I ask is because I met someone who does CD duplication and he is offering me an unbelievable deal on CD's. :D It's the whole product, glass mastering, graphic arts design, printing on the disc, shrink wrap... everything. The price seems incredible to me, but I've normally only done 1000 at a time and it's about $2.20 each at that quantity with my normal supplier.

Any thoughts on the subject would help.

Thanks.

$2.20 from your dude seems steep. I don't know what the new guy is offering, but cheaper is better. We use ON4 productions here in GA. We did our own art and had outside mastering so 1000 copies for us was about $1300 with full color print on cover(s) and CD, 4 page booklet, and everything else (shrinkwrap, barcode, etc...).

you talking 4 page like 1 sheet folded in half, or are you talking staple action?

I usually like to go with the "digipacks" you get a bigger cover, and it generally leaves it open for a more creative packaging than a regular jewel case does.

sometimes a bit higher priced but it's worth it for the final product.
