I was having problems with my stingray electronics, as well as a weak G-string. My E string also sounded a little muddy. I replaced the electronics with Aggie pre and Nordstrand PUP. Same G-string issue, and same E string issue. I have the guitar set up pretty good as far as action, truss rod, pickup height, and intonation. Everything is tight. (neck bolts, bridge, tuners) I think it's time to take her to a luthier and have her checked. Could it be the nut? I am at a loss. I have used this bass heavily for about 4 years, and probably could have treated her a little nicer... Anyway, I could use a recommendation for luthiers in or around the central Illinois area. Thanks

There is a string or two on the "light G string" output. I had this problem also, but replacing the string and raising the pickup seems to of cured it. Also, my new cabinet, Ampeg 410hlf has a horn in it. It has really brought out the G string.

There's a really good guy in Beloit WI, which is just over the border in Northern IL. I know it's a little far away but if you're interested, shoot me a PM.

Chopperguy,
Where are you located? There is a guy by the name of Gene Liberty that has a shop in Sheridan,Illinois. He is an amazing luthier. He builds his own guitars and works on other brands as well. I have had him do some work for me in the past as well. You can look his number up in the book or call information.
