Hi folks.... I just bought a new Stingray5 a couple weeks ago. Should I have gotten a Certificate of Authenticity? I bought it new thru Guitar Center. Can I get another if I didnt get one? Thanks, much appreciated.

As far as I know, the regular instruments do not come with a certificate. The Ball Family Reserves might, but I am not sure as I do not own one.

I bought this guitar from Safe Haven music… it’s obviously a Steve Morse HH BFR, and I didn’t get the certificate. I kindly wrote to customer service asking if there was only way I could get a copy or duplicate of the Cert. Nope.
Wow… no explanation, no offer to help or even verify when it was built, which number, etc. I’ve spent over $20,000 on Music Man Instruments over the years. I was very active on this forum and worked for a dealer for a few years where I passionately supported and sold their instruments.
I’m Extremely disappointed, to say the least.

You bought a used guitar that's 8 years old. Who knows what modifications could have been made in all that time? Not sure how you could possibly expect them to certify it's authenticity.

Hey JeffreyB, I understand what you mean, having recently been in the same position (other brand, cert was kept in case, bass shipped with another case, cert now gone), but I decided to try and not put energy into the mess up, and it actually worked (much to my surprise).
So play and enjoy that badass guitar, knowing it is indeed the genuine deal!
