Well, I finally exhausted the supply of regular Slinky strings that I bought when I got my Pet.

I've been wanting to try Super Slinky strings on there since I've been playing those strings for 20 years.

So tonight I put a set of Super Slinky on there. Somehow, I broke two strings in the process of re-stringing (a .11 B string and a .32 A string). I think I just put too much tension on them while stringing. They both snapped up at the tuner post. Fortunately, I always have about 6 sets of Super Slinky strings around. I haven't broken a string while playing for years and years, and I was a little shocked to break two tonight!

Anyway, I re-strung the Pet and needed a little trem claw loosening in order to get the trem level again. All in all it took 20 minutes.. would have been less had I not broken those strings. I was on the phone most of the time, too, so it really was easy to do.

the only time ive ever broken a string stringing a guitar...was my freinds jackson with a floyd on it. i think i didnt properly tighten the locking nuts, so when i was stretching the strings, the 9 broke and scared me.

how do you like the 9's after playing on 10's for so long?

I've been playing with 10's for a few years now and got my Axis with 9's a couple of weeks ago and I'm going to put 9's on the rest of my guitars. Much easier to play with. I can do alternate picking alot faster now with 9's.

Backdoor Bandit,

I like the 9's but it is a little odd feeling them on the Pet after having 10's on there for 9 months.

I can't wait to play it through my amp cranked up.. I have to wait until I get to my drummers house, though!
