I have a EBMM silhouette but i don't quite like the pearloid pickguard.

is it possible to change pickguards without messing with the pickup wiring? I don't know how to solder.

I'm guessing I can just unscrew the screws for the pickups and put them in the new pickguard?

any help is appreciated! thanks!

AFAIK one of the selling features of the silo is that it's easy to change pickup configs easily. It's pretty straightforward as it's something I've recently done on my Silo Special. There's molex connector between the output jack of the guitar and the pots that allows easy connection/disconnection of the electrics. So you can do it in about 5 minutes. Incidentally, you'll need to transfer all the electrics (PUP's, switches, Pots etc) to new pickguard otherwise you will need to desolder.

Yah there shouldn't be any desoldering needed. Everything is screwed together, but you might want to measure the pup to pickguard height before hand and write it down for the new pick guard. If you are unsure do what I do, take pictures of every step, then you have something to go back too when you put it back together.

What pick guard combination are you considering? Are you going to go with a stock one or have a custom one made? Whats the Silo color??

Hope this helps, Glenn |B)

a little thread revival...

I'm thinking of changing my pickguard to a 2 humbucker configuration.

any idea where to get such a pickguard? would a SUB1 pickguard fit a Silo?

They make everything on order. Also you can tell them you want a HH configuration. No problem there.

Another thing you can do is contact Dazbootman on Ebay. He also makes Silo pickguards. I've got some guards of him. Nice guy :)
