Hi guys, i've got a jp limited edition 2006 with dimarzio custom in neck position an dsonic in bridge position.
i really love EVERYTHING about my guitar, but i feel the need to be able to have softer sounds, especially for blues and rythm, so i was thinking about buying push-pull pots and install them for the neck and bridge pickups.
do you think it's a good idea?
and, is it possibile to split these pick ups?
will the soung change by installing these pots, even when i'm not in split mode?
are they easy to install? (considering that i am able to change pickups)
thank you

Phazer, I personally wouldn't do it, but thats just my opinion. Especially if you're JP has the piezo it'll probably be a bitch to hook all that wiring up. Doesn't the middle position give you a softer sound if you just roll the volume back? You could also try a pedal such as the BB Preamp by Xotic effects with the middle position and I'm sure you'd be able to get a nice, soft bluesy tone. Hope that helps ya man.

unfortunatelly mine doesn't have the piezo.
for clean stuff i love the central position, and if I want to do rythmic blues, but it seems to me that it's a little too soft if i want to do solos with that "twangy" sound.
but probably i just need to fiddle a bit more with my pod xt live to find the right "soft-but-not-too-soft sound".

anyway i've decided to keep it as it is, it's too perfect to be modified :)

Glad to hear it, Phazer.
