Holy crap, Adam Curry. I forgot about that guy.

Back in 88 or 89 I saw Anthrax and Exodus play at the Long Beach Arena. He came out to introduce one of the bands and was booed mercilessly. I think Ricky Rachman was on Headbangers Ball less than a month later.
