was removing the neck from my Silhouette and I guess I wasn't gentle enough. Chipped some paint off the body around the neck pocket.

That sucks. One question, though: Why would you be removing the neck from your Silhouette?

I would hate for the finish to get screwed up on any of my guitars. I would be even more pissed if I did it myself. I can totally sympathize.

Maybe you could use this as an opportunity to refinish it? Got another guitar to play while you mod the Silo?

Yeah I'm pissed that it happened because of my own carelessness.

Don't worry ... guitars are made to be played and worn ... Some brand like F**** make a lot of money selling guitars artificially "road worn". It's always better to be proud of his own scars.

Ain't no big thang... my SS has battle scars all over it. It plays like a mother and only continues to sound better.

I guess I would be less upset if it got its scars from playing on stage as opposed to me trying to tweak it. Plus it's a sapphire black finish so the raw wood stands out glaringly. If it were sunburst or something it wouldn't look so bad.

black guitar .... take a sharpie to the glaring spot. Or go to Wally World Or Big cheesy K and get a small bottle of black fingernail polish. YOu'll never even know it was chipped after a while....

I hit my guitar named after a famous performer once married to Mary Ford with one of the case latches and left a huge scar right down the entire bottom like three days after I got it, it sucks but there's nothing you can do about it but grab your wife/girlfriend's nailpolish (or yours, if you're in a Children of Bodom cover band or something) and hope for the best.
