WILL THIS EVER END??????
This is what you get to look forward to!!!
hiroku, welcome. Find a dealer that has the guitars and go try them. People will give you their opinions and that's fine, but in the end you need to make the decision for yourself.
They are all great instruments, but it all comes down to what you like.
i like the guitar sounds in the "used - caught fire". not sure which ones sound that like. i have a friend that recommended the silhouette to me. i'm guessing it will still be a while before i can actually play any music.
i've been wanting a guitar for a while and only recently came into some money, today actually, so i was reading around and found this forum. any other useful knowledge i could use? i'm totally new to this. i'm thinking about ordering a dvd for beginners called "Fender Presents: Getting Started on Electric Guitar -- A Guide for Beginners" .
is there anything else i need to buy? i'm probably going to buy an amp from my friend.
also what are the best sites for deals on guitars? i figure it will be cheaper online and i'm in school during the weekdays where there is no stores for guitars around.
thanks guys. i'll definitely post up pictures when i get it.
Where are you located?
There are some dealers who frequent this board who are very reputable and great to deal with. They are in the US, Canada and now in the UK (if Dave has officially taken over) also, but they can only deal new in their own countries so if you give us an idea of your location we can help you out.
Check out PeteDubaldo who posts on the forum. His signature has a link to his shop's website with an inventory/on order list. His shop is in CT. but he has shipped many an instrument to fellow forumites, including me. Great guy to work with.
Buy right the first time, even if you have to wait to raise more funds. Owning a MM is a longtime friendship that doesn't get jealous when you get more...
For sheer versatility I'd go for a JP or a Luke, though I personally think the Dimarzio's give you more range. With either or these guitars you'll be spolit for choice with tone and quality. Otherwise unless you like your crunch/clean only, you're gonna be stuck if you buy something like an AL.
