I'm new here---still looking around. Thanks in advance for your input.

I loooove my '11 Classic SR four string with roasted neck and maple fretboard. One of my favorite features is the lacquered fretboard...very classy looking, and makes it look nice and shiny in the stage lights.

I'm GASsing for a Classic SR fiver now. Does EBMM offer the rosewood fretboard with the same lacquer job as standard issue? All the Classic SR fivers I see pics of look like they have unfinished fretboards.

Cheers!

No the Roasted neck was a limited run option. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The classic SR's have laquered necks with some nice figuring, just without the roasting.

You are correct John in that the Classic SR's have either a Birdseye or Figured Maple lacqured necks. But not Roasted.

Roasted Maple necks were only available with Rosewood fretboards and not Maple fretboards.

I hope the Roasted Maple neck option becomes available again.

Thanks for the info!

I'm pretty sure mine is a "special run" for GC. I got it last October---I'd never seen one like it before...Classic SR with black body, tortoise pickguard, white pickup and lacquered, roasted figured maple neck with maple fretboard. Love the lacquer on both sides of the neck. I'll get some pics up soon...

Anyone know if the "regular" Classic SR rosewood fretboards are lacquered?

GC Platinum has a bunch of Classics with laquered roasted necks/laquered roasted boards.

That's one of GC's PLATINUM SERIES basses. I actually played an SR5 with the same roasted maple board. Was very nice looking, but not my cup of tea. I like the satin smooth feel.
