I've played my Sterling a lot over the past six years and do nothing more than keep my hands clean and wipe it down after playing. Not even a hint of rust or anything.

The clear nail polish won't mess with your sound. Neither will the rust that develops if you don't protect the pole pieces.

I wonder if the GREAT Bass Players of our century fuss over their basses like we do here, worrying about rust, pickguard color, pickups, strings, color of our basses, bridges, nuts and such.

It's no wonder our wives think we're morons.

Oh well, enough of this rant, I don't want to waste anymore time, I have to Armor All my guitar case today..........;)

i dont really "take care" of my stuff. i dont mess them up on purpose... but i dont polish them either. every few string changes ill clean the FB, maybe... but that's as far as i go.

personally i dont plan to sell my stuff and ya, i do like the fact that theyre pretty but not enough to make sure they stay that way

It's not really kosher to post the price you paid for a new EBMM bass on the forum. If you could edit that, I'm sure the EBMM gang would appreciate that.

yip ... posting street price is against the rules.. used gear prices and retail price is a-ok. i editted the post
