Hello people!

I know the answer is to use EBMM string wipes!

My question is for the coated strings. I usually use lighter fluid to clean my strings and will try some wipes after I am done with it unless it will in some way ruin the coating. Is it ok to use this on the coated strings? I am thinking about the coating in particular. Titanium should be fine I guess. So is it ok (the lighter fluid) ?

I am almost out of Lemon oil and will be using trying EB fingerboard conditioner also. Thanks in advance,

HB

That's an interesting question. Thinking back to my organic chemistry class, I don't think they would react since butane doesn't contain any "functional groups" or double bonds. It's hard to say though without knowing the the specifics of the coating. I don't think I would risk it - use EB Wipes.

I would have thought lighter fluid was a bit risky for repeated use... not for the strings nut for your guitar fretboard.

Fast Fret??

IM guessing lighter fluid in repeated use would make your guitar alot more flammable. just me though. Just incase youve got some narly fireworks for an outdoor gig?
