cleaning my jp6

Can anyone recommend a method for cleaning the body of my jp6? There are two challenges. 1. Since we replace one string at a time it is difficult to clean beneath the strings. 2. What is the best solvent/wax/stuff to use to remove smudges and polish the body?

It's a beautiful axe and I want people's jaws to drop when they see it. Any suggestions will be welcome.

Can those Wonderwipes be used for both the fretboard and the guitarbody ?

There are two challenges. 1. Since we replace one string at a time it is difficult to clean beneath the strings.

I always remove all the strings. That makes easier to clean the areas underneath the strings. And it's actually not that difficult to get the bridge levelled again if you use the same type/gauge of strings. I always do it that way and I never have to adjust something (like the trem-claw, spring, ...).

I just stick all the new strings through the bridge, then I stick them through the locking-tuners and lock them all. At this point the bridge is still being pulled all the way back. Now I start turning the tuners untill the strings aren't "slacking" anymore. Then I use my right hand to push down the trem-bar and hold the bridge levelled, while I use my left hand to tune each string to the right note.

But of course this is just a suggestion.

Just polish it up!

Make sure you buffer it completely so there are no streaks, and you should be set

Can those Wonderwipes be used for both the fretboard and the guitarbody ?

They make three different kinds of Wonder Wipes.

One for string cleaning.
One for instrument polishing.
One for fretboard conditioning.

So, I wouldn't use the polishing ones on the fretboard. It's probably safe, for all I know, but I just use the fretboard conditioner on the fretboard (rosewood ones anyway). I think you can use the polishing wipes on maple fretboards.

Instrument Polish Wonder Wipes are awesome! Don't use anything else now... the Fretboard Conditioner works wonders on rosewood, but don't use it but a few times a year or whenever the rosewood looks thirsty...
