Hello guys,

I have a couple of questions,

How (with what) should I clean the back of my fretboard?

Also, my guitar necks have been getting sticky every time I play, any body experience this and have any solutions? I wash my hands before I play

Btw, I am using a Dean Strat, LP Epiphone, and a Jackson Dinky

Thanks in advace

Edrod, when you get your EBMM you will notice one of the huge differences is the unfinished necks. Not alot of companies do this, not sure what others but I think G&L also has them. They use a hand rubbed special wax blend gun oil finish that can be reapplied about every year or so.

For your regular guitars with a nitro or satin finish on the neck a regular guitar polish for finished surfaces will do fine for the back of the neck. I'm not entirely sure about the JP BFR necks that are painted.

Slingy, that hand rubbed wax finish is one of my favorite features of the MusicMan line. I reapply gun stock oil [birchwood casey-it's really inexpensive] and minwax wood wax once a year. The bass [Ray5] stays feeling great. I'm looking forward to placing my order for a Bongo 6....just gotta get money.

On instruments with a hard finish, instrument polish should work. If you want to smooth it out a bit more, some uber fine sandpaper or steel wool can help-i have NEVER done this though.

Yeah, necks (back profile side), that are painted and/or finished tend to get "stickier" a little more easily than unfinished.

Wonder Wipes are good for guitar maintenance, as well as the BC gun stock oil, that I also use routinely.

Thanks slingy I appreciate it. I have another question. The back of my Jackson will keeps getting sticky. I always wash my hands before I play. I noticed that if I was my hands when the neck gets sticky, it will go away.

Does anybody have an explanation for this or solution?

Thanks
