Hey kids

I have been after Cliff to share some of his experiences in the trenches with the bongo. He is reluctant to because he doesn't want to be presumtious or just isnt sure if you guys would like to hear it. I tell him that nobody would think that he is puffing his chest, but that the forumites would love to hear it from a gentleman like Cliff.

Lets put some pressure on him. Maybe he can post some mp3's and tell a little story, Like the 60 piece orchestra session friday doing the music for the incredibles video game music at Warners.....there is a good Bongo story there......

Hear! Hear! All my Bongo stories start with "I was in my living room...". Who wants to hear that. Now my sousaphone stories, well... that is a whole different story. I digress. Let's hear it Cliff.

Well, how can I resist such Bongo love.
I'll try and make it short.
I did a session Fri. at Warner Bros. sound stage on the lot in Burbank.
All I knew was bring electric bass. I was kinda' expecting a large band but I didn't know it was an full orchestra situation. I know the drummer Bernie Dresel very well so I figured if your grovin' with the drummer then everything is cool.

Right before the session started the engineer, Danny Wallin who is a big time dude came up and said, "did you hear the stuff we did on the last project?". I said i hadn't but I would love too. He said "yeah man you sounded great but what was that bass you were playing?"
(I'm sensing a smile en mass )---anyway i said it's my MusicMan Bongo--He said "man it sounded great!"
I got to tell you guys, I hear that all the time.
So he gave me some mp3's of some of the stuff we did on that movie. Some of it is kinda' cool and shows the versitility of the bongo and how it holds it's own in that setting.
There is Bernis Dresel on drums, Carl Verheyen on guitar, Alex Acuna on percussion and other cool players. And a orchestra on some of it.
I don't know how to post those yet but if anyone is interested i will figure it out. Maybe a private message? What ever is best.
The session on Friday went great and was for the Incredibles video game. Bongo delivered the goods and sounded amazing with a 60 orchestra. No mp3's of that. (it's very rare that we ever get copys of those kind of sessions)
