Just a reminder kids.....keep your fingers away from power tools.....especially saw blades (don't ask)! Feeling like I dodged a bullet here. Happy to have all my digits....glad I can still play my Silo Special.

This is my fret hand.

Ouch!! I'm always conscience of my hands when I'm doing something semi dangerous...just a habit. If I couldn't play...I would pretty much go into a atomic funk.

Scary, which kind of saw was it? Personally I have no problem with chainsaws, miters, nail guns, sawzalls etc., but I'm not so comfortable with table saws and routers. Also regular circular saws can be iffy for me, but I don't mind the bigger ones that don't jerk around so much.

Slingy-

Dewalt sawzall - straight blade. I was pruning a tree and hit a hard spot in a branch and leaned into it a bit...ripped right thru the remainder of the branch. Sort of lost my balance (on a ladder) and by instinct reached out and grabbed the only branch I could grab...just happened to be right near where i was cutting. Fortunately I had let off the trigger and the blade was slowing down. Came away with just a scrape, but scared the hell out of me.

Scooby-

I'm in Lakewood (west Denver) near Green Mountain. Where did you live?

Wrong tool for the job. Chainsaw would have cut right through the branch without having to fight it so much, or better yet polesaw.

glad to see you didn't saw your fingers off dude...

and btw .... nice watch... heh heh heh

I don't know if you were wearing the watch when you were using the sawz-all, but it's a very good idea to take off all watches and jewelry when working, unless you're a bean counter, used care salesman, or lawyer......

no jim...no jewelry when working with or around tools. i work with tools pretty regularly and have never had any issues, just had a little slip this time.

i've heard some horror stories about watches, rings and necklaces.
