Man, I'd lend you my pole saw, but I think the 2000 mile drive to get it might disuade you from taking me up on the offer.

I'm always a bit scared whenever I use my circular saw. I don't own any table tools.

Glad to see that you came out of it ok. I use a sawzall to cut up parts cars for scrap.

no jim...no jewelry when working with or around tools. i work with tools pretty regularly and have never had any issues, just had a little slip this time.

i've heard some horror stories about watches, rings and necklaces.

yeah rings are a no no in my trade (mechanic) one of my work mates nearly lost a finger when he was removing a starter motor (dont ask why he didnt disconnect the battery...) ended earthing through his gold wedding ring and burnt his finger very badly... ive also seen photos of guys that have lost their fingers from the same thing.. apparently the gold glows white hot and the heat is enough to sever the finger off....
but yeah no jewelry at anytime... too dangerous

Oh Kev! WOW! I hope you can look at those pics and get some sort of.....well.....I don't know.....

I don't even know what to say. Holy S&*@! Crazy.

I hope you are recovering well and starting to pick up your guitars and work through the process. Don't give up!

I feel lucky.

Luckily I can look back and laugh now. I have made a remarkable recovery and the healing has been amazing. I can barely see the scar. I have been playing for the last couple of weeks now at home, and I reckon I'd be ok gigging again. The band won't let me though yet  (I think they've found someone better) My first gig will be August 29th at a friends wedding so i am really looking forward to it. Some chords are a bit of a challenge though, I've had to adapt and rethink my fingering as I can't quite reach some lol. Even my lead playing is almost back up to scratch now, just taken a while to get used to some strange sensations. I have no feeling on the end, but I do around the finger. My brain is telling me its hurting but its not really...can't really explain it...just strange . Here's a pic of it just two weeks after it was amputated, you'll see what I mean about remarkable healing.

How do you find fretting with the scar tissue onthat finger ? My ring finger suffered a pretty bad cut but nothing too serious. The scar tissue is right where I press down strings and does get a bit sore. It is improving I have to say as time goes on, just wondered how you have found it.

It was sour at the start but right now all i feel is a wee tingling but only when I really try to touch it with the scar. It happened about 2 years ago like they say "time is a healer".
